Winning was thrilled to be working with the celebrated veteran actor and Two-time Oscar nominee Bruce Dern; who played a pivotal role in his own career choice. The director was memorably affected by his performance as Freeman Lowell alone with the drones in the science fiction classic  Silent Running. While shooting in a dark forest in Montreal, Dern famously broke his leg on camera during a bad rainstorm. “I thought, ‘This man worked with Hitchcock and I’m going to go down in history as the guy who brought Bruce Dern to Canada and killed him,’ “ says Winning, in an interview from his office in Los Angeles. “It was scary.”

“David is so well prepared and bright and ahead of the curve. He knows exactly what he wants and can transfer that in his head in two seconds. He’ll make the rain work. He never panics. One of the most important things in filmmaking is the leadership at the top. Here it’s as good as you’ll ever see.”  BRUCE DERN
